Resolving Font Display Issues?
Experiencing font display problems in Wordmark? Here are some solutions that you can try.
1. Ensure Software is Up to Date
PROBLEM
Fonts are missing or not displaying correctly in Wordmark.
SOLUTION
- Confirm that your operating system and web browser are up to date. Outdated software can cause font display problems.
2. Grant Font Permission
PROBLEM
Only system fonts are appearing. Your Fonts section is empty.
SOLUTION
- Ensure that font permission is granted for Wordmark. Go to the Your Fonts section. If permission is not granted, you should see a message prompting you to grant it.
- If the permission is already granted, try revoking and re-granting it.
- Follow our Font Detection Guide for browser-specific instructions.
3. Restart Browser After Installing Fonts
PROBLEM
Recently installed or uninstalled fonts aren't updated in Wordmark.
SOLUTION
- The browser only checks for new fonts when it restarts. Restart your web browser after installing new fonts to allow Wordmark to detect them.
4. Revoke and Re-Grant Font Permission
PROBLEM
Fonts remain missing or aren't displaying properly.
SOLUTION
- Revoke font permission for Wordmark, then grant it again. Follow our Font Detection Guide for instructions.
5. Check for Interfering Extensions
PROBLEM
Fonts are not displaying correctly, and you have multiple browser extensions.
SOLUTION
- Disable other extensions temporarily to identify if any are conflicting with Wordmark.
6. Disable privacy shield
PROBLEM
Only some of your installed fonts are appearing in Wordmark when using Brave browser.
SOLUTION
- If you are using Brave browser, you need to disable privacy shield in your browser. Brave considers sharing the name of your installed fonts to be a privacy concern.
7. Consider Using the Browser Extension
PROBLEM
Fonts are still not showing up.
SOLUTION
- If issues persist, revoke font permission and install the Wordmark browser extension, it is less capable at detecting all the fonts on your computer but still a good alternative.
8. Reinstall fonts with proper permissions on Windows
PROBLEM
Fonts that used to show up are now missing on Windows.
SOLUTION
If you're on Windows, a recent software update might have changed your font permissions and caused your fonts to go missing.
If you suspect this is the issue, try these steps:
- Find the font file that is missing.
- Right-click on the font and choose “install for all users” option under “more options” menu.
- Restart your computer and check if the fonts appear in Wordmark.
